My boyfriend told me about his past a year ago, now he has changed it, I don't know what to believe?

My boyfriend and I get on great but he told me when we first met that he had had round about 11 one night stands and last night we got onto the conversation for some reason and he told me that he never had sex with any of them, just done stuff with them like touching and all that. I kinda believed him but, i mean can this happen? Can you go home with someone you meet at a club do stuff but not have sex with them? I don't really know as I've never had a one night stand and don't really like the thought of it either. Do you think he's just said all that because we have had a few tiffs about it or do you think he's just finally telling me the truth? Has anyone had a lot of one night stands but not actually had sex with the person? Just need a bit of advice please :)
